How we work

Our mandate in three words

Manage, maintain, monitor. That is our mandate, and here is what it means for you.

Step one

Manage

We start with an assessment.

  • We check your tax compliance, deductions and your position with the ATO.
  • We look at your debts, your budget and your goals.
  • If it suits us both, you start as a casual client.

Step two

Maintain

We set it up properly.

  • We restructure your business and trust activities where it helps.
  • Outstanding ATO debts are dealt with.
  • Bookkeeping and lodgements run on time.

Step three

Monitor

We keep you across it.

  • A Client Running Agenda shows where every job is up to.
  • We tell you about ATO rulings and changes that affect you.
  • A retainer when it makes sense, not before.

Common questions

What does the first assessment cover?

Your tax compliance and deductions, Division 7A and PSI issues, your relationship with the ATO, your debts and tax owed, your budget, your risk profile and your goals. We ask for a full picture of your finances, including any past tax concerns.

Do I have to sign up to a retainer?

No. If the assessment shows we can help, you start as a casual client. A retainer comes later, and only if it suits what you need.

Can you help if I am behind with the ATO?

Yes. Resolving outstanding ATO debts is part of what we do. Tell us the whole story at the first meeting and we will work out the next step with you.

What should I bring to the first meeting?

Your last tax returns, any ATO letters and a rough idea of what comes in and goes out each month. If you are unsure, bring what you have and we will tell you what else we need.
